Michelle & Rory, Athlone Springs Hotel

I had a great run of lovely dry weather for my last few weddings. I think I deserved it having been hit with nothing but torrential rain and wind for a string of weddings before that. Friday October 7th last was a beautiful sunny autumn day as I made my way to the Connolly household in Walsh Island. There I was warmly welcomed by Rory's parents and family. The groomsmen were in top form which I think helped keep Rory's nerves in check and the boys got into their GAA jerseys for a kick about before getting dressed in their suits.

I didn’t linger too long and got myself onto the back roads to Doyle’s just outside Kilbeggan. It’s always lovely to see both the bride and groom before the wedding. It’s especially sweet when one asks about the other and how they are doing. It is a huge day after all for the bride and groom but their families also. I often think of our four girls when I see how nervous the parents can be. I think I’ll be a blubbering mess when the time comes.

Michelle was getting the final touches applied to her makeup when I arrived and was looking absolutely stunning. I captured some lovely special moments between her and her granddad too. Michelle’s parents seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time was especially emotional.

Thank you Michelle and Rory for choosing me to document your day. I really enjoyed working with you and your families.  Thanks to the guys from JMB Video as always for being so professional. Thanks to Fr. Barry Condron, Durrow Abbey and the Athlone Springs Hotel. Here are some images from your big day guys, I hope you love them.
