Margaret & Pat, Tullamore Court Hotel
Meeting Margaret & Pat
I first met Margaret and Pat shortly before their big day. They are a very relaxed duo and I knew we were going to get on well! Margaret and Pat’s big day was on 29th December last and was my second last wedding of 2016.
The Big Day Dawns
I started off at the Meehan household on the morning of the wedding and received a great welcome. The atmosphere was chilled out, the house was immaculate with some really lovely people coming and going. Debbie from Dollface was applying the finishing touches to Margaret’s makeup and Lorraine and Gloria from Deirdre’s were perfecting the bridesmaids’ hair.
Just around the corner, a nervous Pat was ready to go as I paid the boys a quick visit. Around noon, Martin from Annaharvey Chaffeur services pulled up outside which for me is always a good omen!
At the church, Simon Casey’s velvet voice soothed any nerves, ably assisted by the very talented Paul Skelton on piano. Monsignor Coonan was a great sport throughout and put everyone at their ease. Towards the end of the ceremony as I was about to take a shot of the congregation, he asked me if I wanted a little bit of extra height as he simultaneously pointed at a nearby chair (always badly needed in my case 😉 ) which drew much laughter from the front rows!
Remembering Pat Meehan
What was extra lovely throughout the day was how Margaret’s late Dad Pat was remembered. He was talked about in the Meehan house in the morning, he was with Margaret all day on her bouquet and very much celebrated at the ceremony. I’m sure he would have been very proud.
Working Together As A Big Team
After mass, we made a quick pitstop at The Brewery Tap in Tullamore before making our way to the Tullamore Court Hotel. The whole day had a lovely vibe about it and I really enjoyed myself. It was a pleasure to work the guys from Lawlor Video in Portarlington. Even though it is my job to capture the still images, I really enjoy working with all of the suppliers on the day. I love when it all comes together, we work as a big team, looking out for one another, the bride and groom and their families. ensuring that they enjoy the day to the fullest.
Thank you Margaret and Pat for allowing me the pleasure of being your wedding photographer and for being lovely to work with on the day. Thanks to the Meehan and O’Brien families for your help and hospitality. A big thank you to Monsignor Coonan for the laughs on the day and great humour. Thanks to Martin from Annaharvey Chaffeur Services for always keeping me right, to Paul and Cathy Anne in the Brewery Tap for your help and assistance. To Martin and Donna at The Tullamore Court Hotel and all of the suppliers who made Margaret and Pat’s day possible. Here is a small selection of the images from the day.
